Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef for a lighter dish.
  • 12 oz pasta Short pasta shapes like shells, rotini, or penne work best.
  • 2 cups beef broth Homemade or store-bought.
  • 1 cup milk Can substitute with heavy cream or evaporated milk for a creamier texture.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or mozzarella recommended.
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder Adjust according to taste.
  • 1 tbsp onion powder Adjust according to taste.
  • 1 tsp paprika Optional for flavor warmth.
  • salt to taste salt Add during cooking and adjust before serving.
  • pepper to taste black pepper Add during cooking.

Method

Cooking
  1. Brown the ground beef in a large pot over medium-high heat until fully cooked, allowing it to sit and sizzle for added flavor.
  2. Season the beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika while it's cooking.
  3. Add the beef broth to the pot and bring it to a simmer.
  4. Once simmering, add the pasta and cook according to package instructions.
  5. Reduce heat and slowly stir in the milk or cream, ensuring not to curdle it.
  6. As the sauce thickens, give the pasta more attention to prevent sticking.
  7. Once the pasta is tender, remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheese until melted.

Notes

Freezing this pasta is possible, but texture may change. Cool completely before freezing, portion into airtight containers, and aim to consume within 2 months. When reheating, add a splash of milk or broth to restore creaminess.
