  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/2 cup sweet onion, chopped Use less if you prefer a milder onion flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise Adjust to your taste; can substitute with Greek yogurt.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Add lemon zest for extra flavor.

  • to taste Old Bay seasoning Optional for added spice.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Chop crab meat, celery, and onion into small pieces.
  2. In a bowl, mix the crab, celery, onion, mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  3. If using, add Old Bay seasoning and herbs, then mix gently.
  4. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
Serving Suggestions
  1. Serve in lettuce cups, on toasted croissants, inside mini sweet peppers, or atop crackers.

Notes

Crab salad is best served cold. For added flavor, let it chill for an hour or more. Avoid overmixing to keep the salad chunky.
