Pumpkin Spice Latte Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree Use plain canned pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling.
  • 1-1.5 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice Or use a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  • 1-1.25 cups milk Dairy or non-dairy milk like oat milk.
  • 1-2 tablespoons sweetener (maple syrup, brown sugar, or regular sugar) Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds extra flavor.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances the flavors.
  • as desired whipped cream Optional topping.
Coffee Ingredients
  • 1/2-3/4 cups strong coffee or espresso Brewed strong for best flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, add the pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice. Stir for about 30 to 60 seconds until it smells fragrant.
  2. Pour in the milk and add the sweetener, vanilla extract, and pinch of salt. Whisk and heat until steaming but not boiling.
  3. Turn off the heat. Froth the mixture using a handheld frother or whisk for about 20 seconds.
Assembly
  1. Pour the strong coffee or espresso into a mug, then pour the pumpkin milk mixture over it. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  2. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of spice or caramel drizzle if desired.

Notes

This latte pairs wonderfully with pumpkin bread or cookies. For a fun twist, consider making it iced by heating the pumpkin and spice, then blending with iced coffee.
