Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 can crescent dough (standard size)
  • 2-3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1-2 teaspoons cinnamon depending on taste preference
  • a pinch salt optional, enhances sweetness
For Serving (optional)
  • powdered sugar
  • cream cheese glaze
  • maple syrup
  • chopped pecans
  • vanilla icing made with powdered sugar and a splash of milk

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the waffle maker until hot.
  2. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to make the cinnamon sugar filling.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough and press the perforations to make one sheet.
  4. Spread the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the dough sheet.
  5. Roll the dough into a log starting from the longer side and pinch the seam to seal.
  6. Slice the dough log into 6 to 8 rolls.
Cooking
  1. Grease the waffle maker and place one roll in the center. Close the lid without pressing down hard.
  2. Cook for about 3 to 5 minutes, or until deep golden brown.
  3. Repeat the cooking process for remaining rolls, greasing the waffle maker as needed.
Serving
  1. Drizzle icing, dust with powdered sugar, or add syrup and optional toppings.

Notes

Store leftover waffles in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge, or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in a toaster or oven for best results. Add icing only before serving to maintain texture.
