Ingredients

Mocktail Ingredients
  • 3 oz chilled cranberry juice blend or pure cranberry for extra tartness
  • 1 oz pomegranate juice for a deeper berry note
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup or spiced syrup See expert tips for spiced syrup.
  • 2 to 3 oz non-alcoholic gin alternative or juniper-rosemary infusion
  • 3 to 4 oz chilled sparkling water or club soda to top
  • Ice cubes, plus crushed ice if you like it frosty
  • Garnish: rosemary sprig, orange peel, cranberries on a pick, or a thin cucumber ribbon

Method

Preparation
  1. Chill your glass. A coupe, stemless wine glass, or highball all work.
  2. Fill a shaker with ice. Add cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, lemon juice, syrup, and your NA gin or infusion.
  3. Shake for 10 to 12 seconds until very cold.
  4. Strain into the chilled glass over fresh ice. Top with sparkling water to add lift and bubbles.
  5. Garnish with a rosemary sprig and a dash of orange peel oil expressed over the top. Add cranberries for color.
Optional Juniper-Rosemary Infusion
  1. Lightly crush 1 teaspoon dried juniper berries and add them to 1 cup hot water with 1 small rosemary sprig, a strip of cucumber peel, and a strip of lemon peel. Steep for 10 minutes, strain, and chill. Use 2 oz per drink.

Notes

Mix the non-carbonated parts in advance and keep in the fridge for up to 3 days, topping with bubbles only when serving. Use clear ice for better flavor retention and consider spicing your syrup for additional warmth.
