  • 4 pieces Hot dogs Beef, pork, turkey, or plant-based
  • 4 pieces Hot dog buns Brioche buns are a sweeter option
  • 2 cups Chili Canned or leftover homemade chili
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese Cheddar or pepper jack recommended
Optional Toppings
  • to taste Diced onion
  • to taste Jalapenos
  • to taste Pickles
  • to taste Mustard
  • to taste Hot sauce
  • to taste Sour cream

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F for about 3 minutes if necessary.
  2. Warm the chili in a small oven-safe dish or microwave for 60 to 90 seconds.
Cooking
  1. Place the hot dogs in the air fryer basket and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, until skins are blistered.
  2. Remove the hot dogs and toast the buns in the basket for 1 to 2 minutes.
Assembly
  1. Place a hot dog in each bun, spoon warm chili over the top, and add shredded cheese.
  2. Return the assembled dogs to the air fryer for 1 to 2 minutes to melt the cheese.
Serving
  1. Top with your choice of onions, jalapenos, or other toppings. Serve immediately.

Notes

Toast buns separately to avoid sogginess; do not overload with chili for stability.
