Preparation
- Warm the salsa in a skillet over medium heat with a tiny bit of oil or butter for about 1-2 minutes.
- Toss in the tortilla chips and gently stir to coat them with salsa.
- Cook to your desired texture: 1-2 minutes for more crunch, 3-5 minutes for softer chilaquiles, stirring gently.
- Remove from heat and immediately top with eggs and other toppings of your choice.
Notes
Chilaquiles are best served immediately. If you have leftovers, store salsa and chips separately if possible to maintain texture. For more crunch, serve with extra plain chips on the side.
