Ingredients

Stromboli Ingredients
  • 1 lb pizza dough Store-bought is perfect.
  • 2 cups cooked chicken Shred or chop rotisserie chicken for even bites.
  • 6 slices bacon Cook until crisp.
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing Thicker dressing works best.
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese Low-moisture preferred.
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese Can use all mozzarella if preferred.
  • 2 stalks green onions Adds freshness.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder For seasoning.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper To taste.
  • 1 beaten egg egg wash Mix with a splash of water for a shiny crust.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll the pizza dough into a rectangle about 11 by 15 inches.
Assembly
  1. Spread a thin layer of ranch dressing over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border.
  2. Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese evenly over the ranch, then add the cooked chicken, crispy bacon, and chopped green onions.
  3. Season with garlic powder and black pepper. Be careful not to overstuff.
  4. Starting from the long edge closest to you, roll the dough into a log, tucking gently as you go, and pinch the seam closed. Fold the ends under.
Baking
  1. Move the rolled stromboli to the baking sheet seam side down. Brush with the egg wash and cut 4 to 5 small slits on top to vent steam.
  2. Bake for 22 to 28 minutes or until golden brown. If it’s browning too fast, tent loosely with foil.
  3. Let the stromboli rest for 10 minutes before slicing into 1-inch pieces.

Notes

For best results, let the dough rest if it resists rolling. You can add variations such as bell peppers, spinach, or different cheeses based on your preference.
