Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 12 pieces mini waffles Frozen is totally fine
  • 12 pieces crispy chicken tenders or strips Store bought or homemade
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup Can customize with cayenne or hot sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted For added richness
  • 1 pinch cayenne or hot sauce Optional but enhances flavor
  • Salt to taste Just a tiny bit in the syrup goes a long way
  • Toothpicks For serving
Optional Add-Ons
  • thin sliced pickles To add extra flavor
  • 1 slice cheese Optional, for extra creaminess
  • smear of honey mustard For a tangy kick
  • tiny bit of coleslaw If available

Method

Preparation
  1. Toast the waffles until crisp and golden. Set them on a sheet pan to stay warm.
  2. Cook the chicken tenders. Cut large tenders in half if necessary to fit the waffles.
  3. In a small bowl, stir together maple syrup, melted butter, and cayenne. Adjust to taste.
Assembly
  1. Assemble the sliders: layer a waffle, add chicken, then top with another waffle.
  2. Drizzle some syrup sauce inside each slider or brush the top waffle lightly with syrup.
  3. Insert toothpicks to hold the sliders together and serve while warm.
  4. Provide extra syrup sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

Toast the waffles crisp, avoid drowning in syrup, cut chicken to fit the waffles, and keep them warm for serving.
