Cheesy Pull-Apart Garlic Bread

Ingredients
  

Bread
  • 1 large loaf large crusty loaf (sourdough, boule, or French loaf)
Garlic Butter Mixture
  • 6-8 tablespoons butter (melted) Use real butter for best flavor.
  • 3-5 cloves garlic (minced, or garlic paste)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional) Adds freshness.
  • a pinch salt Only if your butter is unsalted.
  • to taste red pepper flakes (optional) For a little heat.
Cheese Filling
  • 2-3 cups shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or provolone) Mozzarella for stretch, cheddar or provolone for flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment.
  2. Cut the bread into a grid, slicing one direction, then the other, without cutting all the way through.
  3. Melt the butter and stir in the minced garlic, parsley, and a pinch of salt.
Assembly
  1. Drizzle the garlic butter mixture deep into the cuts of the bread using a spoon.
  2. Stuff the cuts with shredded cheese.
Baking
  1. Place the loaf on the baking sheet and loosely tent with foil. Bake for about 15 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes until the top is bubbly and lightly browned.
Serving
  1. Serve warm and enjoy pulling apart the cheesy pieces!

Notes

If your loaf is very crusty, consider adding an extra tablespoon of butter for moisture. Store leftovers wrapped tightly in foil at room temperature for up to 1 day, or refrigerate for 2 to 3 days.
