Preparation
- Heat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll the pizza dough into a rectangle on a lightly floured counter.
- Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over the dough, leaving about 1 inch bare on one long edge.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce, then add your preferred toppings in a light, even layer.
- Roll the dough tightly towards the bare edge, then pinch the edge to seal.
- Chill the rolled log for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Slice the log into 10 to 12 pieces and place them cut side up on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 14 to 18 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
- Cool for 5 minutes before serving to allow the cheese to set slightly.
Notes
These pinwheels are less messy and great for kids. They reheat well and you can customize toppings. For serving, consider marinara or ranch dip.
