Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk melted butter and brown sugar until glossy and smooth.
- Add eggs and vanilla, stirring until combined.
- Add flour, salt, and cinnamon, and stir just until no dry flour is visible; do not overmix.
- Fold in the diced apples.
Baking
- Spread the batter into the lined pan.
- If using chopped caramels, sprinkle over the top and gently press in. If using caramel sauce, spoon and swirl it lightly.
- Bake for about 25 to 35 minutes. Check around 25 minutes for set edges and a center that isn't wet; a toothpick should come out with moist crumbs.
Cooling and Slicing
- Cool the blondies before slicing to allow them to set properly.
Notes
Use firm apples and chop them into small pieces for even cooking. If using caramel sauce, opt for a thicker version for better texture.
