Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup Butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup Brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon (optional but recommended)
  • 2 medium Apples, peeled and diced small Use a firm apple variety like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith.
  • 1/2 cup Caramel candies, chopped or thick caramel sauce If using sauce, make it thick to hold swirls.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk melted butter and brown sugar until glossy and smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla, stirring until combined.
  4. Add flour, salt, and cinnamon, and stir just until no dry flour is visible; do not overmix.
  5. Fold in the diced apples.
Baking
  1. Spread the batter into the lined pan.
  2. If using chopped caramels, sprinkle over the top and gently press in. If using caramel sauce, spoon and swirl it lightly.
  3. Bake for about 25 to 35 minutes. Check around 25 minutes for set edges and a center that isn't wet; a toothpick should come out with moist crumbs.
Cooling and Slicing
  1. Cool the blondies before slicing to allow them to set properly.

Notes

Use firm apples and chop them into small pieces for even cooking. If using caramel sauce, opt for a thicker version for better texture.
