Preparation
- Butter the outside of each slice of bread.
- Spread jam on the inside of one slice.
- Add sliced brie on top of the jam.
- Close the sandwich with the other slice of bread.
Cooking
- Heat a skillet over medium to medium-low heat.
- Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook until deeply golden on both sides and cheese is melted, about 5-7 minutes per side.
- If needed, cover the pan for 30-60 seconds to help melt the cheese.
- Let the sandwich rest for one minute before cutting to prevent hot jam from oozing out.
Notes
Keep the heat medium-low to ensure the bread browns without burning while the cheese melts. Use softened butter for even browning and avoid overfilling with jam to prevent the sandwich from sliding around.
