  • 1 piece ripe banana, fresh or frozen Use one that's about to go brown for best flavor.
  • 3/4 cup frozen blueberries Wild blueberries are preferred for extra flavor.
  • 1/4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats Do not use super-quick oats.
  • 1 cup milk Can be dairy, almond, or oat milk based on preference.
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup Optional, depending on the sweetness of the banana.
  • 1 handful ice cubes For extra chilling effect if desired.

Preparation
  1. Toss all ingredients into a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour into a glass and enjoy.
  4. If the smoothie is too thick, add extra milk; if too thin, add more oats or ice.

Notes

Blend longer if the smoothie is lumpy. Can swap half the blueberries for strawberries. Adding cinnamon or vanilla enhances flavor.
