Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a baking dish, add fresh or frozen blackberries and sprinkle with sugar.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk and melted butter to dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Baking
- Pour the batter evenly over the blackberries in the baking dish.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
Serving
- Let cool slightly before serving. Best served warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
Store in the fridge covered for up to two days. You can microwave individual servings to reheat. Feel free to substitute blackberries with other berries such as raspberries or blueberries, or mix with peaches or apples if preferred.
