Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 squirt fresh lemon juice optional
  • 1 pinch Italian seasoning optional

Method

Preparation
  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
  2. Drizzle olive oil over the chicken breasts and ensure they are shiny, not soaked.
  3. Sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika over the chicken to taste; toss to coat evenly.
  4. If time allows, let the chicken rest in the fridge for 30 minutes to enhance the flavor.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Place the chicken on the grill and do not disturb for about 4-5 minutes to achieve grill marks.
  3. Flip the chicken and cook the other side for about 4 minutes.
  4. Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature has reached 165°F.
  5. Remove from the grill and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Consider marinating the chicken for at least 1 hour or overnight for enhanced flavor. Do not pound the chicken too thin; about ¾ inch is ideal. You can also use a grill pan indoors if the weather isn't suitable.
