  • 1 tbsp sweetener Maple syrup, honey, or simple syrup can be used. Start with a small amount.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances flavor.
For the Matcha Layer
  • 1 tsp matcha powder Culinary grade works, smoother matcha is recommended.
  • 2 tbsp warm water Do not use boiling water to prevent bitterness.
Optional Toppings
  • 1 tbsp crushed vanilla wafers For authentic banana pudding vibe.
  • 2 tbsp cold foam or whipped cream For a cafe-style finish.
  • 1 pinch cinnamon or nutmeg Optional for extra flavor.

Method
 

Preparation of Banana Pudding Base
  1. Blend or mash the ripe banana with milk and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Add sweetener and a pinch of salt, adjusting to taste.
Preparation of Matcha Layer
  1. Whisk matcha powder with warm water until smooth.
Assembly
  1. Fill a glass with ice, pour in the banana pudding base, then top with matcha.
  2. Add optional cold foam or whipped cream on top if desired.

Notes

For a layered effect, pour the banana milk over ice first before slowly adding the matcha. This drink can be prepped ahead; just mix the banana base and store it in the refrigerator.
