Banana Pudding Layer

  • 1 cup Whipped topping Use store-bought or homemade for a fluffy layer.
  • 1 cup Vanilla wafers Crushed for topping.
  • 2 medium Ripe bananas Optional for mixing in or topping at the end.

Method

Prepare Brownies
  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the brownie mix according to package instructions.
  2. Pour the brownie mixture into a lined baking pan.
  3. Bake according to the package directions and cool completely.
Prepare Pudding Layer
  1. In a bowl, whisk together instant banana pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes.
  2. Let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes to thicken.
  3. Gently fold in the whipped topping until well combined.
Assemble
  1. Spread the pudding layer evenly over the cooled brownies.
  2. Sprinkle crushed vanilla wafers on top.
  3. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Serve
  1. Slice into squares and serve. Add banana slices just before serving if desired.

Notes

For best results, chill the brownies before slicing for clean squares. You can freeze the brownie layer, but the pudding topping does not freeze well. Consume within 3 days for best flavor.
