Ingredients

Meatball Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground turkey (93% lean)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian style)
  • 1/4 cup milk (any kind you use)
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan (optional but recommended)
  • 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional)
  • Cooking spray or a little oil for the pan

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic, Parmesan, salt, pepper, oregano, and parsley. Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Scoop mixture with a spoon or cookie scoop, roll gently into meatballs, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Lightly oil the baking sheet to prevent sticking.
Baking
  1. Bake meatballs for 14 to 18 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  2. Remove from oven and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Keep the mixture moist and avoid overmixing to ensure tender meatballs. You can freeze the meatballs for later use, storing them for 2 to 3 months for best texture.
