  • 4 pieces Chicken breasts, tenders, or boneless thighs Cut into thick strips if using large chicken breasts.
  • 8 strips Bacon Regular cut is easiest to wrap.
  • 1/2 cup Barbecue sauce Plus extra for serving.
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder or smoked paprika Optional but enhances flavor.
Optional
  • to taste Toothpicks For securing bacon.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup and place a rack on top if available.
  2. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels. Season with salt, pepper, and optional garlic powder or smoked paprika.
  3. Wrap each piece of chicken with 1 to 2 strips of bacon, securing with toothpicks if necessary.
  4. Place seam side down on the baking sheet and bake for approximately 20 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Brush barbecue sauce over the top of the chicken and continue baking for another 10 to 15 minutes until chicken is cooked and bacon is browned.
  2. For extra caramelization, broil for 1 to 3 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.

Notes

Use a rack for better crispiness of the bacon and check the chicken's internal temperature to ensure it reaches 165°F (75°C). Serve with favorite sides like roasted potatoes or coleslaw.
