Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup and place a rack on top if available.
- Pat the chicken dry with paper towels. Season with salt, pepper, and optional garlic powder or smoked paprika.
- Wrap each piece of chicken with 1 to 2 strips of bacon, securing with toothpicks if necessary.
- Place seam side down on the baking sheet and bake for approximately 20 minutes.
Cooking
- Brush barbecue sauce over the top of the chicken and continue baking for another 10 to 15 minutes until chicken is cooked and bacon is browned.
- For extra caramelization, broil for 1 to 3 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
Notes
Use a rack for better crispiness of the bacon and check the chicken's internal temperature to ensure it reaches 165°F (75°C). Serve with favorite sides like roasted potatoes or coleslaw.
