Ingredients
  

Main ingredients
  • 2 pieces ripe plantains Should be mostly black with some yellow spots
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil Canola or avocado oil recommended for brushing

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Peel the plantains and slice them on the diagonal into thick slices.
  2. Lightly spritz or brush the plantain slices with oil.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (188°C).
  2. Place the plantain slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they do not touch.
  3. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the edges are caramelized and crisp.
  4. Check for doneness; the middle should be soft.

Notes

Best served fresh. Can be paired with black beans and rice, topped with queso fresco and hot sauce, or served alongside fried eggs.
