Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional) For a little kick
  • 1 spray cooking spray or parchment liner For air fryer basket

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 300°F for about 3 minutes.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk the egg white until foamy.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract, add the pecans, and toss until every nut is coated.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Add the sugar mixture to the pecans and stir until they look evenly sandy and sticky.
  6. Lightly spray your air fryer basket or use a parchment liner. Spread the pecans in a single layer.
Cooking
  1. Air fry the pecans for 8 to 12 minutes at 300°F, shaking the basket every 3 to 4 minutes.
  2. Once they are deeper in color and smell like cinnamon toast, remove them.
  3. Pour the pecans onto a sheet of parchment paper and spread them out to cool.

Notes

Do not skip the cooling step to ensure they become crunchy. Shake the basket frequently to prevent burning. Use the egg white for the best cling of the sugar coating.
