  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil To rub on both sides of the beef.
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt Use generously.
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper Freshly cracked is preferred.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder For added flavor.
  • 1 pinch Dried thyme Optional, can substitute with fresh thyme.
  • 1 pat Butter Optional, for finishing.

Method

Preparation
  1. Remove the filet mignon from the fridge and let it sit for 20-25 minutes to bring it to room temperature.
  2. Pat the steak dry with paper towels.
  3. Rub olive oil on both sides, then sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic powder, and optional thyme.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place the seasoned beef tenderloin in the basket without overcrowding.
  3. Cook for 9-11 minutes for medium rare, flipping halfway through.
  4. Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 130°F (54°C).
Resting
  1. Let the beef rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing to keep the juices in.

Notes

Slice the beef thick for juicy bites and consider serving with sides like roasted potatoes, green beans, or garlic bread. A drizzle of balsamic glaze can add a unique touch.
