Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 to 3 pieces bananas that are firm but ripe Choose bananas that are not too green and not overly ripe.
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons lemon juice Helps with browning.
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons oil Optional, but helps with crisping.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances flavor.
Optional Seasonings
  • cinnamon Can be added for flavor.
  • sugar Can be sprinkled on after cooking.
  • honey Brush lightly on slices before cooking.
  • maple syrup For a sweet touch.

Method

Preparation
  1. Peel the bananas and slice them thin, aiming for coin shapes about the thickness of a nickel.
  2. Toss the banana slices gently with lemon juice. If using oil, add it now.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 300°F to 325°F.
  4. Place banana slices in a single layer in the basket, leaving a little space between them.
Cooking
  1. Air fry for about 10 to 16 minutes, flipping halfway through. Adjust timing based on slice thickness and air fryer strength.
  2. Let the chips cool on a plate or rack to improve crispiness.

Notes

Slice bananas evenly to ensure even cooking. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary. Cooling them completely helps firm them up. Store in a container with a lid at room temperature for a day or two. If they soften, re-crisp in the air fryer for a minute or two.
