Ingredients

  • 1 can refried beans Use a thick variety and stir in water if too thick.
Creamy Layer
  • 1 cup sour cream Mix with 1 to 2 teaspoons of taco seasoning before spreading.
Avocado Layer
  • 1 cup guacamole Store-bought or homemade with a squeeze of lime.
Salsa Layer
  • 1 cup salsa Drain if watery to keep layers intact.
Cheese Layer
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or a Mexican blend works well.
Garnish Layer
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes Alternatively, use pico de gallo.
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives Add sliced jalapenos if desired for heat.
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions Garnish before serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Spread refried beans evenly into the bottom of a glass dish.
  2. Mix sour cream with taco seasoning, then spread it over the beans.
  3. Add the guacamole layer, smoothing it gently.
  4. Spoon salsa or pico de gallo on top, ensuring to drain if too juicy.
  5. Add a thick layer of shredded cheese on top.
  6. Sprinkle chopped tomatoes and green onions over the cheese.
  7. Finish with sliced black olives or jalapenos if you like a bit of heat.
Chilling
  1. Cover the dip and chill for at least 30 minutes before serving to meld the flavors.

Notes
