Ingredients

For the fudge
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Semi-sweet recommended; alternatively, use milk chocolate or dark chocolate.
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk Do not swap with evaporated milk.
  • 2 tablespoons butter Use salted or unsalted butter; if salted, keep extra salt light.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Makes the fudge taste cozy and rounded.
  • 1 pinch salt Optional but enhances chocolate flavor.
For the swirl
  • 1 jar marshmallow creme Can substitute with melted mini marshmallows and a teaspoon of water.

Method

Preparation
  1. Line an 8x8 pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal. Lightly butter the parchment if desired.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, combine the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Stir constantly until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Turn off the heat and stir in the vanilla and a pinch of salt.
  4. Pour the chocolate mixture into the lined pan and smooth the top.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of marshmallow creme over the chocolate layer.
  6. Using a butter knife, swirl the marshmallow into the chocolate gently, being careful not to overmix.
  7. Chill in the fridge for about 2 to 3 hours, or until firm enough to slice.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks, with layers separated by parchment paper. Fudge can also be stored at room temperature for a day or two, or in the freezer for up to 2-3 months.
