Ingredients

For the Burgers
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20) Best for juiciness
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (softened) Makes mixing easier
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning Classic packet works great
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar Sharp cheddar gives the most flavor
  • 4 slices cooked bacon (chopped) Crispy, adds flavor
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Optional but recommended
For Assembling
  • 4 pieces buns Brioche or potato buns recommended
  • Optional toppings (pickles, onion, lettuce, etc.) Suggestions include extra cheddar, BBQ sauce, etc.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a big bowl, mix together the ground beef, softened cream cheese, ranch seasoning, shredded cheddar, chopped bacon, and garlic powder (if using) until combined, but do not overwork.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 to 6 patties, pressing a small dent in the center of each.
Cooking
  1. Cook patties in a skillet over medium heat for 4 to 6 minutes per side, or grill with lid down, flipping once. Use an air fryer if preferred.
  2. Ensure patties reach an internal temperature of 160°F.
Assembly
  1. Toast the buns in a dry skillet or on the grill.
  2. Add the cooked patties and desired toppings, letting the burger rest for 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

Make-ahead: Prepare patties and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. They can be frozen for 2 to 3 months. Store cooked burgers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
